Midwest

The depth in the Midwest Region extends beyond five places.  At NXN Midwest, the top four teams were separated by 14 points, topped by Centerville OH with 145 points. This was without Minooka IL, the Illinois 3A State Champions, who opted not to travel to Terre Haute, Ind.  It can be expected that at least one at large selection will come out of the Midwest. Northville MI was the surprise of the meet, finishing second, but the team is now in a dispute with the MHSAA over whether it can go to nationals. Two teams who were ranked in the top 20 nationally one week ago, but did not make the top five are Birmingham Seaholm MI and Yorkville IL.
