1. Brodey Hasty, senior, Brentwood/unattached TN: With his coach pushed out by the school district it appears Hasty won’t be racing during the regular season. He deserves this spot after becoming only third prep ever to run 8:45 for 3,200 meters both indoors and out. He was also third at NXN last year.

2. Alex Maier, junior, Flower Mound TX: No longer is he living in the shadow of Reed Brown and Sam Worley. Maier had a great sophomore year, finishing fifth at both NXN and Foot Locker. He also ran 8:52 twice outdoors in the 3,200.

3. Gabe Fendel, senior, Hamilton Southeastern IN: The Indiana 1,600-meter champion runs with no fear. He was 12th at Foot Locker last year and dropped 8:50.56 in the 3,200.

4. James Mwaura, senior, Lincoln WA: The Washington state and NXR Northwest champ ran 8:54.53 in the 3,200 meters.

5. Dylan Jacobs, senior, Carl Sandburg IL: It was a somewhat modest spring for the reigning Foot Locker Midwest champion, but this guy loves cross country.

6. Danny Kilrea, senior, Lyons Township IL: He won NXR Midwest last year and took 13th at NXN.

7. Dustin Horter, senior, Lakota East OH: He’s the defending Ohio Division I champion.

8. Dalton Hengst, senior, McDonogh School MD: The Penn Relays 3,000 champ was also 21st at Foot Locker.

9. Joshua Schumacher, senior, Jesuit OR: The Oregon 6A 3,000 champion was 27th at Foot Locker and ran PR 8:53 2-mile.

10. Liam Anderson, junior, Redwood CA: The fastest returning athlete from the CIF state meet, he placed 22nd at NXN as a sophomore.

11. Meika Beaudoin-Rousseau, senior, Bellarmine Prep CA: He was 19th at Foot Locker.

12. Jacob McLeod, senior, Trinity Christian GA: He was 15th last year at Foot Locker.

13. Khalid Hussein, senior, Wayzata MN: The only returner from last year’s top seven at the Minnesota state meet, where he was second.

14. Sam Affolder, junior, Loudoun Valley VA: The runner-up at Foot Locker Northeast is onto his third school in three years.

15. Graydon Morris, sophomore, Aledo TX: Made it all the way to the Foot Locker finals as a freshman.

16. Clayton Mendez, senior, Whitney Young IL: His 8:59 3,200 meters bodes well for cross country.

17. Daniel Maton, junior, Camas WA: Reports of a strong summer could mean big things for the Washington 800/1,600 champ.

18. Nathan Lawler, senior, Pittsford Mendon NY: He has the top returning resume in New York.

19. Scott Thompson, senior, Brentwood/unattached TN: He made enormous gains over the past eight months but we might not see him until November.

20. Cameron Ponder, senior, Mount Tabor NC: He was the runner-up in North Carolina and ran 8:56 for 3,200 meters.

21. Ryan Oosting, junior, Arlington MA: Victory in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor 5,000 could indicate big things on the horizon.

22. Charlie Kern, senior, York IL: He was third in the Illinois 3A state meet.

23. Aidan Troutner, senior, Timpview UT: He is the highest returning placer from last year’s NXR Southwest (ninth).

24. Cole Johnson, senior, Rockford MI: Looking to get things right in his senior season.

25. Andy Monroe, senior, Crater OR: Recovering from injury, two-time NXN qualifier has potential to move up.

26. Ryan Raff, senior, Lehi UT: He ran a very strong fourth at the Utah 5A final last October; also went 8:58 outdoors in the 3,200.

27. Drew Bosley, junior, Homestead WI: The top returning placer from NXR Heartland (sixth).

28. Price Owens, senior, Grafton VA: He placed 30th at Foot Locker.

29. Charles Hicks, junior, The Bolles School FL: Advanced to Foot Locker finals as a sophomore.

30. Grant Gardner, junior, Springville UT: He’s got a key role to play in Springville’s high hopes.

31. Matthew Meinke, junior, Neenah WI: He was sixth at in the NBNO 5,000 meters.

32. Peter Morris, senior, Loudoun Valley VA: He has made steady, consistent progress at LV.

33. Duncan Hamilton, senior, Bozeman MT: He has become the top dog for the reigning NXN champions.

34. Justin Hazell, senior, El Camino Real CA: It’s impossible to overlook 8:54 at Arcadia and fifth in the CIF state 3,200 meters.

35. Ryan Lockett, senior, Poolesville MD: He’s the Maryland 3A champion in cross country and track (3,200).

36. Matt Scrape, senior, Pickerington Central OH: Runner-up in the Ohio Division I 3,200 meters and also second at last year’s state cross country meet.

37. Carter Cheeseman, junior, Fort Worth Christian TX(?): The transfer was 12th at NXR Southeast last year as a sophomore and ran 9:07 in the spring for 3,200.

38. Gavin Hoffpauir, senior, The Woodlands TX: The second-fastest returner from the 6A state final, after Maier.

39. Silas Derfel, senior, Ithaca NY: He’s the top returner from the New York Class A meet (ninth).

40. Jacob Korgan, senior, Great Oak CA: He was the Wolfpack’s No. 1 at NXN last year.

41. Arjun Jha, senior, Thomas Worthington OH: He won seven races, some of them big ones, between August and October last year.

42. Devin Hart, junior, Point Pleasant Boro NJ: He won the NJ Meet of Champions 3,200 as a sophomore.

43. Rusty Kujdych, senior, Neshaminy PA: He was third in the Pennsylvania AAA 3,200 (9:04.55).

44. Carlos Carvajal, senior, Great Oak CA: He was eighth at the CIF state meet in the 3,200.

45. Raymon Ornelas, senior, Eleanor Roosevelt CA: He’s run 9:08 in the 3,200 and is the leader of the pack for the Mustangs.

46. Drew Thompson, senior, Fairfield Prep CT: He was 35th at Foot Locker last December.

47. Victor Mugeche, senior, Blue Springs MO: He’s the top returner in Missouri.

48. Alex Slenning, senior, Wilson OR: He was third in the Oregon 6A state final last year.

49. Michael Phillips, senior, Lawton Chiles FL: He’s the reigning Florida 3A champion.

50. Sean MacGregor, senior, York IL: He was 10th at the Illinois 3A state meet last year.

61. Andrew Mah, senior, Newton North MA: He was the New England 3,200-meter champion.

62. Philip Lambert, senior, Stafford VA: Virginia 5A 3,200 meters champion.

63. Chad Johnson, senior, Colonel Crawford OH: Ohio Division 3 3,200 champ; 14th at Foot Locker Midwest.

64. Lucas Bons, senior, Dublin Coffman OH: Sub -4:10 miler; 17th at Foot Locker Midwest.

65. Colin FitzGerald, senior, Crescenta Valley CA: He was 12th at Foot Locker West.

66. Jacob Ridderhoff, senior, Downers Grove North IL: He’s the No. 1 runner on one of the top teams in the country.

67. Brendan Murray, senior, Cheshire CT: He ran 9:06 at the Loucks Games.

74. Tristan Shelgren, senior, St. John’s Prep MA: He was the runner-up in the Massachusetts state meet.

83. Skylar Stidham, senior, Christian Academy of Indiana IN: He was third at the Indiana state meet.

84. Behailu Bekele-Arcuri, sophomore, Warwick Valley NY: He placed 10th in the New York state meet as a freshman.

85. Kevin Ramos, junior, Rubidoux CA: He had a strong sophomore campaign, including a 10th-place finish in CIF Division 3.

94. Camren Fischer, junior, Fayetteville AR: He’s the Arkansas Class 7A champion.

95. Nicholas Russell, junior, Bishop Kelly ID: He’s the Idaho Class 4A champion.

96. Colton Bogucki, senior, Loudoun Valley VA: He was fourth in the Virginia 4A cross country final.

97. Samuel Boone, senior, Mt. Carmel CA: He placed third at the CIF Division 2 state final and 26th at Foot Locker West.

98. Abdi Ahmed, senior, Forest Hills Northern MI: He was third in the Michigan Division I 3,200 meters.

99. Marcus Mota, junior, Stockdale CA: He placed seventh in the CIF state 3,200 meters.

100. Stetson Moss, sophomore, Bonneville ID: He won the USATF Junior Olympic 15-16 3,000 title with 8:39.97.
