Individual Girls Preseason Top 100 XC 2017

The Preseason Girls Top 100 


 

1. Claudia Lane, junior, Malibu CA: She’s the reigning Foot Locker champion and also ran 9:57.52 to win the 3,200 meters at Arcadia.

2. Kelsey Chmiel, junior, Saratoga Springs NY: She broke the sophomore class record in the 3,000 (9:18.09) and was fifth at NXN.

3. Grace Ping, freshman, Cotter MN: Age-group world record holder has returned to high school running in Minnesota. She was sixth at NXN as an eighth-grader. She ran 16:25.23 in the 5,000 on the track before turning 14.

4. Rebecca Story, senior, Christian Academy of Knoxville TN: She was third at Foot Locker last year.

5. Jacqueline Gaughan, senior, Exeter NH: She was the New England champion and 11th at Foot Locker.

6. Lexy Halladay, sophomore, Mountain View ID: She led the country in the mile as a freshman (4:41.80).

7. Katherine Lee, senior, Shoreham-Wading River NY: The NXN 10th-place finisher anchored her team twice to New Balance Nationals relay titles.

8. Annie Hill, senior, Glacier MT: She’s a veteran of national championship races and has won back-to-back titles at NXR Northwest.

9. Katelyn Tuohy, sophomore, North Rockland NY: Her tremendous freshman year included a New York state title in the 1,500 (4:18.51) and 13th place at NXN.

10. Anne Forsyth, senior, Ann Arbor Pioneer MI: She placed fifth at Foot Locker and 14th at NXN last year.

11. London Culbreath, sophomore, McKinney TX: She was the Texas 5A and NXN South champion as a freshman and also took 12th at NXN. She also ran 10:04.73 for two miles.

12. Taylor Roe, junior, Lake Stevens WA: She pulled off an impressive triple at the Washington state track meet in Class 4A and also ran 4:45.97 in the mile to beat Lexy Halladay at the Jesuit Twilight.

13. Grace Connolly, junior, Natick MA: The Massachusetts state champion was ninth at Foot Locker. 

14. Katelynne Hart, sophomore, Glenbard West IL: The Illinois 3A champion enjoyed a tremendous freshman year and was 18th at NXN after winning the Midwest regional.

15. Alyssa Aldridge, senior, Mainland Regional NJ: She was the Foot Locker Northeast champion and went on to take 13th in San Diego.

16. Quinn McConnell, junior, Peak To Peak CO: She placed 17th at NXN last year.

17. Molly Born, senior, Shawnee Mission Northwest KS: She was the NXR Heartland champion last year.  

18. Olivia Theis, senior, Lansing Area Catholic MI: She placed 14th at Foot Locker and was second in the New Balance Nationals 2-mile.

19. Lindsey Payne, senior, Glenbard West IL: Hart’s teammate placed 17th at Foot Locker nationals.

20. Ember Stratton, junior, Sunset OR: The Oregon champion and NXN runner-up is taking a measured approach early in the season as she works through some Osgood-Schlatter discomfort. 

21. Annika Sleenhof, senior, Ravenwood TN: She was the NXN 19th-place finisher. 

22. Claire Walters, sophomore, Fayetteville-Manlius NY: She led the charge for the Hornets’ 10th team championship with her 20th-place finish at NXN.

23. Tiahna Vladic, junior, Billings Senior MT: She dropped her times by 20-30 seconds in every race of her sophomore season and finished 21st at NXN.

24. Anna Fenske, freshman, Farmington MN: She already owns Minnesota state titles in cross country and the 1,600 on the track.

25. Lydia Olivere, senior, Padua DE: The dominant runner in Delaware was 24th at NXN.

26. Lauren Peurifoy, junior, Martin Luther King CA: There is some debate over who is the next-best runner in California, but Peurifoy was faster than all returners (except Claudia Lane) at the CIF cross country finals.

27. Bailey Hertenstein, senior, Riverview FL: The Florida state champion won spring 4A titles in the 1,600 and 3,200 after placing 20th at Foot Locker.  

28. Adelyn Ackley, junior, Hart MI: She was the Michigan Division 3 champion.

29. Abigail Green, senior, Walter Johnson MD: She placed 21st at Foot Locker.

30. Maddy Denner, senior, Oak Ridge CA: She won the CIF 1,600 meters and was second in the 3,200.

31. Sophia Ryan, senior, Fayetteville-Manlius NY: She was 29th at NXN and ran 9:48 for 3,000 in track.

32. Makenna Schumacher, junior, Jesuit OR: The Oregon 6A 3,000 champion had a breakout spring and ran 9:42.56.

33. Olivia O’Keefe, senior, Davis Senior CA: She is the reigning CIF Division 1 cross country champion.

34. Lauren Peterson, junior, Farmington MN: She advanced to both national meets in cross country and took 25th at Foot Locker and 30th at NXN.

35. Camila Noe, senior, Bozeman MT: She was 35th at NXN and enjoyed a strong outdoor track season.

36. Kyla Christopher-Moody, junior, West Bloomfield MI: She placed 23rd at Foot Locker.

37. Sasha Neglia, sophomore, Dobyns-Bennett TN: She was the Tennessee AAA champion as a freshman. 

38. Tyler Schwartz, senior, DeKalb IN: The Indiana state champion was 31st at NXN.

39. Heather Holt, senior, George C. Marshall VA: She is the Virginia 5A champion and was 27th at Foot Locker.

40. Elena Denner, senior, Oak Ridge CA: She was fourth in the CIF Finals in the 3,200 meters.

41. Caitlin Collier, senior, The Bolles School FL: Huge track talent advanced to NXN last year, working to extend her range to 5K.

42. Anna Marian Block, senior, Athens Academy GA: She finished 29th at Foot Locker. 

43. Emily Shelton, senior, Minooka IL: She was 36th at NXN and took fourth in the Illinois 3A 3,200 in the spring.

44. Phoebe White, sophomore, Fayetteville-Manlius NY: Was a hugely important piece of F-M’s title run last season.

45. Eve Jensen, junior, Boise ID: She won the Stanford Invitational last year.

46. Sara Leonard, senior, Anaheim Canyon CA: She is the top returner from the CIF Division 2 cross country final.

47. Morgan Foster, junior, Chandler AZ: Huge talent looking to make a bigger mark in cross country this fall.

48. Meghan Scott, senior, Divine Savior Holy Angels WI: The Wisconsin champion was sixth at NXR Heartland.

49. Corie Smith, sophomore, Buchanan CA: She was seventh in the CIF 3,200 championship as a freshman after placing fourth in the Division 1 cross country finals.

50. Tsion Yared, sophomore, Pine Crest FL: She qualified for NXN as a freshman and took 39th.

51. Quinn Owen, senior, Lewisville Marcus TX: She won the Texas 6A title in the 1,600.

52. Samantha Schadler, junior, Rio Rico AZ: It’s time for her to take the reins after the graduation of her sister, Allie, one of Arizona’s all-time best.

53. Hannah Reale, senior, Shenendehowa NY: She’s a big track talent who finished 41st at NXN.

54. Olivia Howell, junior, Solon OH: She ran 4:43.25 to win the Ohio Division 1 1,600 title.

55. Page Lester, senior, National Cathedral DC: She finished 32nd at Foot Locker.

56. Katie Thronson, senior, Lewis & Clark WA: She was 33rd at Foot Locker.

57. Abi Archer, junior, Chaparral AZ: She is the Arizona Division 2 champion. 

58. Elizabeth Reneau, senior, Liberty Christian TX: She is the Texas 6A private school champion in cross country and on the track.

59. Mattie Shirley-Fairbairn, junior, Bismarck ND: She was 35th at Foot Locker.

60. Leah Roter, senior, Beachwood OH: She is the reigning Ohio Division 2 champion.

61. Clara Savchik, senior, North Allegheny PA: She was second at the Pennsylvania Class 3A cross country final.

62. Jocelyn Long, senior, Barrington IL: She was seventh at NXR Midwest.

63. Mary Hennelly, sophomore, Suffern NY: She placed third in the New York state meet steeplechase.

64. Gillian Wagner, senior, Redwood Larkspur CA: She was the runner-up in the CIF Division 3 final.

65. Sadie Tuckwood, sophomore, Juneau Douglas AK: She won the Alaska 4A title as a freshman.

66. Alyson Churchill, sophomore, Lincoln FL: She won the Florida 3A title as a freshman.

67. Kayla Windemuller, senior, Holland Christian MI: She was third in the New Balance Nationals 5,000 and is the reigning Michigan Division 2 cross country champion.

68. Grace McLaughlin, senior, Rockford (Boylan Catholic) IL: She was 12th at Foot Locker Midwest last year.

69. Marea Zlatunich, senior, Aptos CA: She placed 36th at Foot Locker. 

70. Abby Green, junior, Carroll Ft. Wayne IN: She was the runner-up at the Indiana state meet. 

71. Anna Hostetler, senior, Mid-Prairie Community IA: She is the Iowa 2A champion in cross country and the 3,000.

72. Kelly Makin, senior, Sunset OR: She is the Oregon 6A champion in the 800 and 1,500 and was the 6A runner-up in cross country.

73. Tierney Wolfgram, sophomore, Math & Science MN: She was ninth at NXR Heartland.

74. Marlee Starliper, sophomore, Northern PA: She was third in the 1,600 meters in the Pennsylvania 3A meet and ninth in the NBNO 2-mile.

75. Haley Herberg, senior, Capistrano Valley CA: She ran a 4:49.22 mile at Arcadia.

76. Bailey Nock, senior, Iowa City West IA: She is the Iowa 4A champion.

77. Jaden Theis, sophomore, Lansing Area Catholic MI: She was third in the Michigan Division 3 3,200.  

78. Alexis Kebbe, sophomore, Jesuit OR: She was third in the Oregon 6A 3,000. 

79. Allison Guagenti, junior, Olentangy Orange OH: She was the runner-up in the Ohio Division 1 meet last year.

80. Madison Mooney, senior, Broomfield CO: She was fourth in the Colorado 5A state meet last year.

81. Caroline Fischer, sophomore, Bishop Guertin NH: She was third at the New England Championships.

82. Sarah Schmitt, senior, Naperville North IL: She was 11th at NXR Midwest.

83. Sielle Kearney, senior, Traverse City Central MI: She was seventh in the Michigan Division 1 meet.

84. Lainey Phelps, sophomore, Homewood AL: She is the Alabama 6A champion.  

85. Eleanor Lawler, senior, South Kingston RI: She was 12th at Foot Locker Northeast.

86. Meagen Lowe, junior, Buchanan CA: She was sixth in the CIF Division 1 final.

87. Alexa Westley, junior, Warren Hills NJ: She won the New Jersey Meet of Champions 3,200.  

88. Jesselyn Bries, senior, Sandra Day O’Connor AZ: She was 39th at Foot Locker last year.

89. Taryn Parks, sophomore, Greencastle Antrim PA: Although 40th, she qualified for Foot Locker as a freshman.  

90. Chloe Arriaga, junior, Walnut CA: She was 10th in the CIF Division 1 final.

91. Mikayla Reed, senior, Washington MO: Missouri Class 4 champion.

92. Amanda Mayoral, senior, Cleveland NM: She is the New Mexico Class 6A champion.

93. Caroline Timm, senior, Our Lady of Lourdes NY: A standout in the 800/1,500 she was also third in the NY Class B cross country meet.

94. Mariah Castillo, senior, Saugus CA: She was fifth in the CIF Division 2 final last fall.

95. Kristin Fahy, junior, La Costa Canyon, CA: She finished third in the CIF Division 3 final last fall.

96. Sylvia Cruz-Albrecht, junior, Oak Park CA: She placed fifth in the CIF 3,200 final.  

97. Morgan Gigandet, senior, Troy OH: She was 10th at NXR Midwest.

98. Brooke Rauber, junior, Tully Senior NY: She was fourth at the NY Federation meet. 

99. Rylee Bowen, senior, Sonoma Academy CA: Took a dip last fall but her career resume is too hard to ignore. 

100. Tori Starcher, sophomore, Ripley WV: She won West Virginia track titles in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.
