NXR meets cause shakeup in Top 30

With five NXR Regional meets in the books, there have been several substantial shifts in the national rankings. 

Wayzata MN is the biggest beneficiary, moving up to No. 4 after a strong performance to win the NXR Heartland Regional. Edina MN and Washburn MN also benefited from strong races, with Edina moving up 17 spots and Washburn entering the top 30 for the first time this season. 

Battle Mountain CO upset the form chart at the NXR Southwest Regional, taking the win and moving into this week's top 10. 

Unfortunately the NXR results were not all beneficial for teams. Keller TX dropped five spots to No. 10 after getting upset at the NXR South Regional by Southlake Carroll TX. Keller's top runner, Julia Black, had an off day and finished as Keller's third runner. Given the single off performance, Keller remains ranked ahead of Southlake Carroll.

Seven teams enter the rankings this week, with six making a first appearance this season. Southlake Carroll moves back into the national rankings at No. 17.

Barrington IL leads the new teams at No. 18, having finished a surprising third at the NXR Midwest regional. The other teams to debut in the top 30 are Chiles FL, Washburn MN, Pine Crest FL, Saugus CA and Hebron TX.

California and the Midwest lead the team depth this week, each represented by five teams. The Northwest and Southeast are each represented by four teams. Teams in the Northeast have improved throughout the season, but the Northeast favorite, North Hunterdon NJ, sits just outside the top 30.
