Boys Regional Rankings 10/18 By Paul Schmitz of DyeStat The Southeast stays status quo. Top-ranked Loudoun Valley VA remains the class of the region but The Bolles School FL, Weddington NC and Severna Park MD are all in the mix for a second place regional finish in a region that is in contention for an at-large bid. Wayzata MN regains the top spot in the Heartland after defeating Edina in the Lake Conference Championship. Middleton WI returns to the top five and appears to be rounding into shape just in time for the postseason. There is a shakeup in the Northeast after the Manhattan Invitational's Eastern States Championship. Bishop Hendricken RI joins the conversation as a potential top team in the region and NXN top-five contender. BH defeated a stacked field of nationally ranked teams that included Fayetteville-Manlius NY, Claremont CA, Christian Brothers Academy NJ and The Bolles School FL. Corner Canyon UT was a surprise winner in the Class 5A Utah State Championships, edging ranked Skyridge. American Fork dominated the 6A meet even without the time of one of its top runners, Carson Clinger, who was DQ’ed for impeding another runner. The Cavemen looked prepped for an NXR title and a run at a podium spot at NXN.
