Individual Girls Final Top 100 Rankings 2023Published by
Addy Ritzenhein Beat The Deepest Field At NXN And Rises To No. 1 To Conclude The Season, With Fellow Sophomore Elizabeth Leachman No. 2

Similar to last year's rankings, the No. 1 spot in the final girls individual rankings comes down to evaluating between two national champions: Addy Ritzenhein and Elizabeth Leachman.
And while both raced each other at Nike Cross Nationals, Ritzenhein had the upper hand by defeating Leachman in Portland on Dec. 2.The daughter of high school legend Dathan Ritzenhein put together a patient, but gutsy effort to win NXN in muddy course conditions at Glendoveer Golf Course.
The Niwot sophomore finds herself atop the rankings to close 2023.
Leachman, on the other hand, had a different outcome than she anticipated. After leading much of the NXN race up until 4 kilometers, the sophomore from Boerne, Texas fell back in the final kilometer and finished 15th.
Knowing she had to make a quick turnaround for Foot Locker the following weekend, Leachman gathered herself and managed to put together a bounce back effort to win her first national title at Balboa Park, putting her behind Ritzenhein at No. 2.
Following the sophomore standouts are seniors Bethany Michalak and Rachel Forsyth and junior Emily Wisniewski to complete the top five.
Michalak slots in at No. 3 after another astounding performance at NXN, earning a runner-up individual finish to lead her Air Academy team to a national championship.
Crescent Valley's Wisniewski from Oregon finishes No. 4 with her third-place effort at NXN to conclude a much-improved junior campaign, with Forsyth from Ann Arbor Pioneer in Michigan rounding out the top five with two All-American performances between NXN and Foot Locker.
Between these five, along with 95 other individuals, DyeStat's final individual rankings are a culmination of national championship performances, first and foremost, but also reflect all-around season performances.
