How does Sadie drop to #9? How does Rylee drop from #5 to #23 after one muddy race? All season, these girls were faster than many girls ranked ahead of them. The muddy mess at NXN should not wipe out a year of massive success. Cali girls just didn't have the right spikes for those conditions.
Air Academy achieves breakthrough to become first Colorado girls program to capture national title, leading podium sweep in Oregon along with Niwot and Mountain Vista, as well as potential shift in high school landscape in coming years

Way too much weight put on one muddy race. A whole season of hard work and success was wiped out by 1 muddy, rainy messy race. No offense, but these rankings are not thoughtful.
And I am sure that the other California programs feel the same way as Corona Santiago does. But the Saugus girls found a way to finish second twice (2007-08) and third once (2010) at Portland Meadows in far more challenging conditions than this year's NXN races at Glendoveer Golf Course. Great Oak and Davis Senior all managed to make the podium from 2014-16 at NXN at Glendoveer in similar conditions. And Buchanan was third last year at Glendoveer. Corona Santiago ran faster historically than all those teams at Woodward Park at the California state meet. Everyone knows if the NXN race was held at the Woodward Park course, the Mt. SAC course, the Woodbridge course or even the John Hunt Park course in Alabama where the Garmin RunningLane Championships are held, that Corona Santiago would have fared better than they did in Oregon, but it wasn't, and thus, the only true elite postseason national team competition of the year decides the final order because it is the only time all the teams raced together. Corona Santiago and other California teams might not think it is fair, but it is the system that is in place until another group or brand develops an alternative in the future.

The most overrated team in the history of these rankings in Union Catholic. Maybe if Jimmy Wischusen was completely healthy they'd belong. But he hasn't run a full race in 6 weeks and he's dropped out of the last 2. Ridgewood belongs ahead of them.
Hi. Can I hear the reasoning behind ranking union Catholic ahead of Ridgewood High School, NJ when Ridgewood finished ahead of UC in the Meet of Champions?
