Top-Ranked Niwot Returns To Colorado State Meet; Herriman Slips Past American Fork In Another Close Utah State Final; Campolindo CA Joins Top 10 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor After an afternoon of refreshing the live results on the Utah state championships meet on Wednesday, the work began to reassemble a new national rankings list. There are 21 more state meets this weekend, including Colorado, Texas, Indiana and Idaho, but the Utah results proved interesting. Herriman edged American Fork by two points, 60-62, and those two teams could very easily reside side by side in the top 30. Jackson Spencer was phenomenal once again, but Herriman really had to work at 3-4-5 to scrape past American Fork. The Cavemen jumped up to No. 7 with a strong effort for second place. Riverton and Westlake also made their cases to be in the top 25. The coming weekend should answer many questions. Is Coeur d'Alene a podium threat? Which Texas team, Southlake Carroll or Bridgeland, will perform best under pressure? Can Noblesville make a run at Columbus North in Indiana? Belen Jesuit FL got better production from its 3-5 guys at the FSU Pre-State meet last weekend and took a leap forward from No. 25 to No. 12. Campolindo, one of six California teams in this week's top 30, is on the way to securing the HOKA Postal Nationals title and have a potent lineup heading into November. Jesuit of Portland had six runners under 15:20 at Wednesday's Metro League district meet, which tracks similar to the 2022 team that finished second at NXN. Top-ranked Niwot may not quite be at Newbury Park level (2021-22), but the talent and depth in the lineup puts the defending national champs head and shoulders above everyone else heading into Saturday's Colorado state meet at Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.
