South

After finishing second to Keller TX at the Marcus I Invitational, Southlake Carroll TX rolled to a third place finish at the Woodbridge Classic in California, launching them into the top spot in the South. Bentonville AR moves into the top-five, breaking up the Texas hold on the region, after winning the Missouri Southern Stampede.

Southeast

Florida's strength is beginning to show with two teams in the top five. However, Blacksburg VA and Lake Braddock Va both appear to be the top teams in the region.

Midwest

Freshman Katelynne Hart has helped to vault Glendbard West IL to the No. 2 spot in the region, joining junior Lindsey Payne for a fantastic 1-2 punch.

Heartland

The big surprise in the early season has been the emergence of Johnston IA. The Dragons easily beat Wayzata MN at the Heartland Classic with the edition of freshmen Brooke McKee and Paige Horner.

New York

Shenendehowa made a splash at the Suffern Invitational, moving them into the top-five in New York. Their 18:52 3-mile average bettered Shoreham-Wading River's 19:03 average from another race at Suffern.

Northeast

The top teams in the Northeast have largely gotten off to a slow start. Milton MA has dominated both of their league meets thus far. North Hunterdon NJ moves into the top-five after showing themselves to be early favorites in New Jersey.

Northwest

Edmonds-Woodway WA is the big surprise in the early season in the Northwest after winning the Ash Creek XC Festival over Camas WA and a less than full strength Summit OR squad.

Southwest

Desert Vista AZ leaps into the top spot after winning the Woodbridge Classic in California, beating the preseason US#3 Great Oak CA. Mountain Vista CO finished a strong fourth at Woodbridge.

Great Oak fell short of a third consecutive Woodbridge Classic sweepstakes title with a setback to Arizona power Desert Vista, but still remains in front of Northern California rival Davis Senior, which was dominant in its victory at the De La Salle/Carondelet NIKE Invitational. Buchanan was impressive as the second California team in the Woodbridge sweepstakes, with Palos Verdes producing a convincing performance in winning the Iolani Invitational in Hawaii.
