Matthew Maton, senior, Summit (Oregon) – There is little to differentiate the Top 5-6; yet, when Jerry Schumacher saw Maton at the Oregon state meet he said the meet record performance was one of the best he'd ever seen at the HS level 2. Tanner Anderson, senior, North Central (Washington) – His state meet was every bit as phenomenal as Maton's, plus he won NXN Northwest 3. Alex Ostberg, senior, Darien (Connecticut) – One of the best seasons in New England history 4. Grant Fisher, senior, Grand Blanc (Michigan) – The guy never loses, but let's see what he's got at Foot Locker Midwest 5. Andrew Hunter, junior, Loudoun Valley (Virginia) – Broke a Sean McGorty record at the Virginia state meet; McGorty was 2012 FL runner-up to Cheserek 6. John Dressel, senior, Mt. Spokane (Washington) – Willing to gamble, always entertaining; a serious Foot Locker contender 7. Austin Tamagno, junior, Brea Olinda (California) – Seemingly untouchable in California 8. Jesse Reiser, senior, McHenry (Illinois) – His 14:11 at Detweiler ranks 17th fastest in state history; also won NXN Midwest 9. Bryce Millar, senior, Fayetteville-Manlius (New York) – Won the NYSPHSAA title 10. Olin Hacker, senior, Madison West (Wisconsin) – Won the NXN Heartland title; gets a crack at Fisher and Reiser next at Foot Locker Midwest 11. Mikey Brannigan, senior, Northport (New York) – Followed rough outing at NYSPHSAA with a decisive victory at NY Feds 12. Jake Brophy, junior, Central Bucks East (Pennsylvania) – Stepped up big when it counted at the state meet in Hershey 13. Will Lauer, senior, Sioux Falls Lincoln (South Dakota) – Runner-up at NXN Heartland 14. Paul Roberts, junior, Lyons (Colorado) – It's been a month since he raced, but NXN Southwest is Saturday 15. Levi Thomet, senior, Kodiak (Alaska) – Runner-up at NXN Northwest 16. Ryan Robinson, senior, Waterford Mott (Michigan) – Runner-up at NXN Midwest 17.
